Climate Change and Conflict

Science and policy is directed towards preventing the escalation of climate change impacts in fragile ecosystems of the developing South. My interest in contributing to these efforts is documenting the various adaptation practices that local communities have employed in times of severe climatic variations. Pastoralist communities of Eastern Africa provide a useful entry into this subject and provide much needed insights into adaptation as local knowledge can very well complement the new approaches to climate change adaptation.
